After years of subtle updates, Google is now rolling out some major changes to Gmail.
Among its newest updates are weaving artificial intelligence directly into the inbox while phasing out long-standing features many users relied on without thinking twice.
The changes, Google recently confirmed on social media, signal a major evolution for the world’s most widely used email service — and a broader shift in how the company wants people and businesses to manage communication.
Gmail enters a new era
In a post announcing what it calls Gmail’s “Gemini era,” Google confirmed that AI is no longer an experimental add-on but a foundational part the user inbox experience.
According to the company, Gmail is being redesigned to do more than store messages — it’s meant to help users process them.
