Google has expanded its Magic Editor, an AI-based photo editing tool, to older smartphones, allowing users to access advanced features without needing the latest Google Pixel phones. Initially released as a Pixel 8 exclusive, the Magic Editor tool is now available on other models through Google Photos. Users can now change, resize, and delete parts of photos using generative AI, making complex edits simple and intuitive.
However, there are some restrictions for non-Pixel Android users and iOS users, who are limited to 10 saves per month. To save more, users can subscribe to a Google One Premium plan for $10, which includes 2TB or more of storage. The full rollout of these features will take place over the next few months, with Android users needing OS 8.0 or later, 4GB or more of RAM, and a 64-bit chipset. Google had previously announced its plans to bring these tools to more devices, gradually starting on May 15.
