Representatives of tech giant Google announced the first recipients of its planned West Memphis Energy Impact Fund, a public-private partnership in Crittenden County that will make utility bills more affordable for residents.

Initial recipients Groundswell Community Power and Crowley’s Ridge Development Council were allotted $5 million, a portion of a larger $25 million sum provided by the Energy Impact Fund, previously announced by Google last year.
