Google Cloud announced today that it has acquired Siemplify, a provider of security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) technologies.

SOAR platforms enable companies to collect critical security data such as alerts that their security team has been monitoring. The ultimate goal of the technologies is to enable organizations to prioritize and improve their incident response efforts. A recent survey by Trend Micro found that the proliferation of cybersecurity tools – companies typically have 29 different security tools – has created great difficulty in prioritizing threats.

In a blog post, Sunil Potti, Vice President for Google Cloud Security, said the acquisition of Siemplify will help the cloud platform “advance invisible security and make security operations accessible to everyone …
