A global operation takes DoubleVPN’s infrastructure and confiscates data about its customers
Law enforcement agencies from Europe, the United States and Canada have teamed up to remove the web domains and seize the infrastructure of DoubleVPN, a virtual private network (VPN) service used by cyber criminals to conduct their activities anonymously.
“Around the world, servers on which DoubleVPN had hosted content were seized and the web domains were replaced with a law enforcement splash page. This coordinated removal was carried out within the framework of the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT), ”says Europols Press release.
