IBM has launched its GenAI Innovation Centre in Kochi to support enterprises, startups, and partners in developing generative artificial intelligence technology. The goal of the centre is to accelerate AI innovation, improve productivity, and enhance expertise in GenAI in India. Organizations often struggle with AI projects due to complexity and limited skills, which the centre aims to address by providing access to IBM experts and technologies. The centre is based on InstructLab, a new technology developed by IBM and Red Hat, to enhance large language models with clients’ data. It will also utilize IBM’s ‘watsonx’ data and AI platform and AI assistant technologies. The GenAI Innovation Centre will be located in the IBM India Software Lab in Kochi and managed by IBM technical experts. The centre will focus on leveraging generative AI technology to tackle societal and business challenges in areas such as sustainability, public infrastructure, healthcare, education, and inclusion. IBM aims to foster a community dedicated to harnessing the power of generative AI through the GenAI Innovation Centre.
