As cyberattack and ransomware news continues to clog the headlines, business leaders are opening up paperbacks and increasing cybersecurity spending, according to a new report from Gartner.
The research firm announced on Monday that global spending on IT security and risk management technologies and services is expected to grow 12.4% to $ 150.4 billion in 2021. Spending in this area almost halved compared to 2020.

What was not mentioned in the report was the number of high-profile cybersecurity incidents reported in the past few months, where IT and incident response teams sought to cordon off corporate environments from nation-state actors and ransomware groups.
