You don’t have to look far to find examples of AI backlash in the creative industries: writers are angry, and so are readers; An AI-generated chart hit sparks a crisis in country music; Filmmakers who expect criticism from professionals and fans preemptively reject the use of AI; even Saturday Night Livewhich was recently accused of using AI to generate some “Weekend Update” graphics, cannot escape the chatbot culture wars. AI-generated material is popping up all around us, and quite a few people aren’t happy about it.
