In early May, Samsung announced that it would roll out some Galaxy S22 camera features to older Galaxy smartphones over the next few months, depending on compatibility with each model. The update was immediately rolled out for the Galaxy S21 series. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are now also adopting the new camera functions.
Samsung improves the night portrait function on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with this update. You can now take brighter portrait shots in dark environments. Your foldable also allows you to use the telephoto (zoom) lens in portrait mode.
Additionally, Samsung’s two latest foldable devices get improvements to the auto-framing feature. The company debuted this feature on the foldable duo but introduced an improved version of it on the Galaxy S22 series. The changes are now being rolled out Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The feature automatically adjusts the composition of a shot by zooming in or out depending on the position of the subject. It can accommodate up to ten people in a frame from a distance of five meters.
Last but not least are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to get Some tweaks that improve the quality of images captured with third-party camera apps, including social media apps.
Samsung will roll out this camera update to other Galaxy smartphones
This “big” camera update for Samsung’s 2021 Foldable Duo may have started some time ago. But the new software package is now widely available for users in Europe. It should soon reach other markets as well, including the US. The updated firmware version for Galaxy Z Fold 3 is F926BXXU1CVEB and for Galaxy Z Flip 3 is F711BXXU2CVEB.
Samsung has also promised to add some of the new camera features to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite devices. Of course, some features will not reach certain incompatible models, but there is something in store for everyone.
