GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The Gaines Township Planning Commission has rescheduled a meeting to consider Microsoft’s data center plan after it was postponed in December.
A public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, to consider the rezoning of 7147 Patterson Ave. SE in Gaines Township, just south of Grand Rapids. The meeting will be held in the auditorium of South Christian High School at 7979 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Byron Center, according to a notice from the township.
The meeting will be held nearly two months after the planning commission struck the rezoning item from the agenda on Dec. 18. Hundreds of people packed the township hall for that meeting, exceeding the building’s fire code capacity and forcing the planning commission to postpone the hearing until it could find a bigger venue.
