Future Branded UI for Xbox Games on Different Platforms Possible, According to report from PlayStation LifeStyle

According to rumors, Microsoft is considering implementing Xbox games on all screens, including on platforms like PlayStation with a branded UI. This concept is similar to the recently introduced PlayStation overlay for PC alongside the Ghost of Tsushima release.

Jez Corden, a journalist and Microsoft expert from Windows Central, has shared details about Microsoft’s plans for cross-platform Xbox games, stating that they will feature a consistent social user interface. For example, Corden mentioned the possibility of playing games like Sea of Thieves on PS5 and being able to access a mini Xbox guide within the game.

Corden likened Microsoft’s idea to Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.net and agreed with fellow journalist Jeff Grubb’s comparison to Nintendo’s Miiverse. The project, which has its own internal codename, aims to create a unified gaming experience across various platforms.

Back in February 2024, rumors began circulating that Microsoft intended to make Xbox games available on all screens. While some initially thought this meant Xbox games would simply be playable on any platform, Corden suggests that the Xbox-branded UI project is more intricate than that.

In essence, Microsoft’s vision for Xbox on all screens involves creating a cohesive experience for players, regardless of the platform they are using. The company aims to establish a strong presence across various devices and provide gamers with a consistent and familiar user interface, enhancing the cross-platform gaming experience.
