French company Thales is launching a Google-powered cloud services company

PARIS, June 30 (Reuters) – French defense company Thales (TCFP.PA) said Thursday it had formed a new company called S3NS in partnership with Google to offer government-approved cloud computing services for storing some of the country’s most sensitive data.

The new company is the result of an alliance formed last year between Thales, Europe’s largest defense electronics supplier, and its Alphabet unit (GOOGL.O)according to a government plan under which France recognizes the technological superiority of the USA. Continue reading
