Playstation Plus gets off to a strong start in 2022 as it reveals another solid month of free games for January. This time around you have three games, two of which have native PS5 versions in addition to PS4. This is good news for trophy hunters.

First of all we have Deep rock galactic, a game that has already appeared on Xbox and PC but is making its PlayStation debut as a freebie. You and up to three other players can shoot your way through randomly generated environments in first person perspective and choose different classes for your dwarves to best achieve the goals of the game.

Critics seem to like this game more, and it’s been selling well on other platforms so far, so we think it’s worth taking a few friends together and trying it out.

Dirt 5 is another one that has both PS4 and PS5 versions, with the latter offering a 120 fps mode if you have the TV for that. It removes the racing series from a simulation like previous entries and makes it a more arcade-like experience, and we’re not going to complain about that at all.

Finally we have Persona 5 strikerwhich doesn’t have a native PS5 version but is obviously playable through backward compatibility and performs better on the newer console.

As the name suggests, it contains the world and characters of the insanely popular Persona 5 (itself permanently free as part of the PlayStation Plus Collection). But instead of being a JRPG, the gameplay is based on Dynasty warriorand if you haven’t played Dynasty warrior… well, you really miss absolute madness.

Like all PlayStation Plus freebies, you can play these games for as long as you have an active subscription. If you then unsubscribe subscribe again, you will regain access.
