Fourteen days Chapter 2, Season 8 ended with “The End,” a final season 8 event that rocked the island to the core. The overwhelming powers of the dice queen dominated the players – all hope was lost. Fortunately, the island was apparently saved by members of The Seven and The Foundation, who turned out to be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Fortnite’s “The End” event started off calmly enough. Players enjoyed jumping around while a big timer counted down and our impending demise was contrasted with dancing Narutos. All of that changed after 9 minutes when Cube Monsters started bleeding into our reality. Armed with legendary weapons and mounted turrets, we tore our way effortlessly through the first wave of enemies. Then the clock struck zero and interdimensional hell broke loose.

The queen of the cube, hovering over a pyramid-like structure, sends a beam of light upwards that tears a hole in the sky. Apparently, she had drafted the alien armada that was last seen in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7. Waves of flying saucers descended on us as giant monsters made up of multiple cube structures appeared. It didn’t go well.

From here, our focus shifted underground when a cutscene shows Dr. Slone enters a secret IO base. She and her guards had captured Jones (Jonesy?) For shameful reasons; it looked like they were either messing up his mind or downloading vital information trapped in his skull. Before Slone could finish, however, Jones is rescued by The Foundation, who takes off his helmet and reveals itself to be The Rock.

After that, it’s a great jump into the core of the island. Other members of The Seven help us meet the Loopers, Jones, and The Foundation just as a giant cube monster breaks into their pressurized environment. Water rushes in and we float to the surface to see the island tip over on its side. A few seconds later, Cube Queen – which appears to be tied to its pyramid-like structure – is destroyed by the moving land mass. As the world of Fortnite literally turns upside down, we see that there is another island on the other side. Fortnite Chapter 3 is here … almost.

As with previous events towards the end of the chapter, Fortnite will be down when Epic Games updates the game. Because of this, fans can’t see what this “new” island has in store until the servers are back up. That means they will have a lot to tell. Not only was “The End” a fun ride, we also learned more about the mysterious group called The Seven and took a quick look at Dr. Slone and Jones thrown – we knew they were at odds, but not necessarily to that extent. An action-packed finale, rock reveal, and a few Fortnite lore resulted in a great time for contestants.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 is about to begin. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on all the news about Fortnite. This also includes sharing our thoughts about the past 15 important events in Fortnite, the latest updates, and more.
