Formula 1 and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are expanding their partnership to create a generative artificial intelligence Trophy for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix. This innovative approach is aimed at boosting creativity and engaging fans in a unique way.
AWS drew inspiration from its previous work with F1 in developing a next-generation car in 2022, utilizing cloud technology for design purposes. The organization collaborated with a UK-based silversmith to combine cutting-edge technology with F1 traditions in crafting the new trophy.
Fans will have the opportunity to participate in the creative process through the F1 “PartyRock” trophy generator, where they can design their own personalized trophy and compete for a trip to a Grand Prix in the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. This interactive experience aims to enhance fan engagement and bring a new dimension to the sport.
Additionally, F1 and AWS are working together to use Generative AI for root cause analysis during races to address technological issues that may arise off-track. This collaboration reflects their commitment to harnessing innovative technologies to improve both on-track competition and off-track fan experiences.
Emily Prazer, commercial director of Formula 1, expressed excitement about the partnership with AWS and the potential of generative AI to elevate the sport. The first generative AI-inspired trophy will be on display at the Canadian Grand Prix, giving fans an opportunity to showcase their passion for F1 through design.
The Canadian Grand Prix is set to take place from June 7-9, with practice and qualifying sessions leading up to the main event. Fans can look forward to a unique and creative addition to the F1 experience, thanks to the collaboration between Formula 1 and AWS.
