As if the trucking industry couldn’t hold out enough last year, there was also a significant increase in cargo theft in 2020. To contain this threat, fleets use a combination of technology and smart business practices to improve safety and keep their drivers and loads safe.

“Our drivers’ safety is number one. We don’t want them to put themselves in danger,” said Melissa Jordan, CR England’s Freight Claims Director. “The next priority is the customer and the integrity of their product.”

CR England ranks 26th in the Top 100 Transport Topics list for the largest rental companies in North America.

Efforts to increase load security become more and more important as the risk increases.

CargoNet, a theft prevention and recovery network, recorded 1,676 supply chain risk events in the United States and Canada in 2020, up 16% year over year.
