First real images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 show subtle but important changes

Last year’s shell Galaxy Z Flip 3 offered a significant design change from the previous version: it came with a much larger cover display and a different camera layout. rumors & leaked renders had said that flip 4 would get a low-key makeover, and it looks like they’re spot on, as newly surfaced real-world images of the phone match those rumours.

Small changes, big impact

This leak comes via YouTubers @Mr_TechTalkTV. This is the first time we’ve seen the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the flesh, and it appears to be the rumored gray variant. The phone has the same overall design as the Flip 3. The inner screen is the same size – 6.7 inches. What has changed, however, is that the crease in the center of the screen is much less noticeable, almost as if it didn’t exist, but if you look closely there’s a small whitish line, probably due to light reflection, suggesting it The crease is still very much present, although it probably won’t bother most users.
The screen edges look a bit thinner and rumor has it that the Z Flip 4 will have a thinner hinge, but it doesn’t seem to serve a functional purpose as there’s still a large gap between the two halves of the device when it’s folded.

At first glance, the cover display looks like it’s the same size, but Mr_TechTalkTV says it’s gotten a little bigger. Rumor has it that the size will increase from 1.9 inches to 2.1 inches.

The location of the physical fingerprint sensor hasn’t changed and is still on the right side, embedded in the lock button. The camera layout as well as the camera specs also remain the same, meaning the phone sports a vertical array of dual 12-megapixel cameras.

Other goodies are the same two-tone design and a smooth matte finish. Like its predecessor, the Flip 4 appears to feature Armor Aluminum material and glass panels on the front and back.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 may offer a larger battery

The source who leaked these images also revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a longer battery life than the Flip 3, meaning the rumors of the battery capacity increasing from 3,300mAh to 3,700mAh were spot on. This seems to explain why the phone is said to be thicker than the outgoing model.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the most popular foldable phone in the world, but its battery life is seen as a downside, so it’s great that Samsung is going to address this with the next generation, and this change could make the Flip 4 the Best foldable phone of 2022.

Users can also quickly charge the battery, as leaks state that the charging speed will increase from 15W to 25W.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and is expected to double that maximum storage capacity to 512 GB. Samsung will reportedly continue to unveil the phone August 10th at the next Unpacked event alongside the book-like Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Watch 5.
