MILAN (Reuters) – Ferrari and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have reached an agreement to turn Amazon’s cloud computing unit into the luxury automaker’s cloud storage, machine learning and artificial intelligence provider, AWS announced on Friday.
The deal will help Ferrari streamline the design and testing of its cars and allow its Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 racing team to launch a digital platform for fan engagement, AWS said in a statement.
“Together, the companies will accelerate the pace of innovation throughout the Ferrari organization,” including their road car division, GT competitions, the Ferrari Challenge and the Formula 1 team, she added.
Ferrari will rely on AWS’s advanced analytics, machine learning, computation, storage and database capabilities to “quickly gain insight into vehicle design and road and track performance,” said AWS.
