The popular VPN service ExpressVPN (Virtual Private Network) on Monday announced that they started ‘Lightway‘, a new next-generation VPN protocol that enables its customers to connect faster, safer, and more reliably.

ExpressVPN, which has been supporting traditional VPN protocols like Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) for years, has now announced another protocol that it claims was created in-house using well-respected and tested cryptography technology .

The VPN service provider claims that Lightway connects to its network far faster than existing protocols, with “nine out of ten users” agreeing. It also offers lower processor load and power consumption, better network reliability, and automatic reconnection if your network unexpectedly fails or if you switch from Wi-Fi to 4G when you leave your home.
