Exploring Cisco’s AI, Vodafone’s i2CAT, and the DSP Leaders World Forum

Vodafone and i2CAT Foundation are working together to develop a multi-vendor management system using Open RAN technology to respond to cyber threats more efficiently and cost-effectively. The goal is to have 30% of antennas across Europe using Open RAN by 2030. The system will combine i2CAT’s research in digital technologies with Vodafone’s engineering expertise. Vodafone also announced the commercial launch of a private mobile network in a box product at the DSP World Leaders Forum.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise reported a 3% year-over-year increase in revenue due to demand for AI capabilities, with AI system revenue doubling from the previous quarter. The company’s CEO anticipates strong results in the second half of the fiscal year. Swisscom’s Italian subsidiary has agreed to sell its stake in FiberCop to Bidco Optical, a subsidiary of kkr, for 438.7 million euros. The transaction is subject to the completion of KKR’s acquisition of NetCo from TIM. Last week, the European Commission approved TIM’s sale of NetCo to KKR in a deal worth up to €22 billion.

The DSP World Leaders Forum in Windsor, UK featured sessions on AI, network automation, cloud-native strategies, and innovation in the telecom sector. Yago Tenorio from Vodafone announced the launch of a private mobile network in a box product during the event. Overall, the telecommunications industry leaders discussed various topics to shape the future of the industry.
