Google is introducing searchable public profiles in Search that will show reviews of movies and TV shows, as well as notes attached to your account starting June 24. These profiles will be available globally through profile.google.com, where users can share their reviews of various media such as movies, books, video games, and albums. Google began notifying users about this change in May, and profile pages will go live on June 24.

Users will have the option to control the privacy settings of their profiles, with some controls appearing only for certain users. They can choose to make their profile private, but this will not hide their reviews from the public. These profiles will not include Google Maps reviews. The goal of these profiles is to make it easier for people to view and manage their reviews in one place and make them more useful to others. Google began experimenting with notes in Search last November and is now expanding the feature to all users.

The rollout of review profiles began as a test in the US and India last year, and it is now available to all Google users. Users can also add social links to their profile page, according to Gagan Ghotra, who initially noticed the change in May and shared it on Twitter.

Overall, Google’s introduction of searchable public profiles in Search aims to enhance the user experience by providing a centralized platform for sharing reviews of various media content. It gives users more control over their reviews and allows them to make their profiles private if desired. This feature is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to improve search functionality and provide users with more personalized and relevant information.
