Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has expanded its virtualization-enabled hybrid cloud offerings for HPE Private Cloud. The company is combining an open-source kernel-based virtual machine with HPE cluster orchestration software to support the performance and availability required for enterprise workloads. This new offering allows for capacity virtualization clusters to be managed through a cloud-based control plane, removing the need for on-premises management resources. The capacity remains available even when disconnected from the cloud.

The virtualization technology is integrated into an overall private cloud solution that utilizes HPE compute, networking, and storage capabilities. This solution provides a user-friendly management experience with automated operations, two-click VM provisioning, built-in data protection, and automated lifecycle management.

Hang Tan, COO of HPE Hybrid Cloud, stated that enterprises are recognizing the importance of a ‘hybrid by design’ approach to achieve the full potential of hybrid cloud. This approach offers a unified, platform-based cloud operating model while maintaining flexibility, control, and uninterrupted service.

With the inclusion of virtualization technology, HPE becomes the first vendor to provide a comprehensive set of enterprise-grade capabilities and services across hybrid cloud technology. This includes modular private cloud infrastructure with AI-powered automation, network virtualization and segmentation through HPE Aruba Networking, data mobility leveraging SDS (HPE Alletra Storage MP), runtimes for virtual machines, containers, and bare metal, and AI frameworks.

HPE also offers multi-cloud, multi-vendor cloud services for IT operations management, data protection, cyber resilience, and sustainability reporting. The company’s platform-based unified cloud control plane known as HPE GreenLake centralizes and streamlines cloud management for a seamless and efficient experience.

Overall, HPE’s expanded hybrid cloud offering with virtualization technology provides enterprises with a robust and cutting-edge solution to meet their evolving needs for performance, availability, and flexibility in the cloud.
