Cyber attack on the IT systems of the European Commission and a number of other European Union organizations last month
The European Commission and a number of other European Union agencies suffered a cyber attack last month.
BleepingComputer quoted a spokesman for the European Commission who confirmed that the “IT security incident” had an impact on the IT infrastructure of several EU institutions, bodies or agencies.
“We work closely with CERT-EU, the Computer Emergency Response Team for all EU institutions, facilities and agencies as well as the provider of the IT solution concerned,” the spokesman told BleepingComputer.
It is reported that at the time of writing there is no information available about the nature of the incident or the identity of the attackers behind the attack.
“The commission has set up surveillance services around the clock and is actively taking measures to limit the damage,” the spokesman told BleepingComputer.
