EU Cloud Group Pushes for Halt to Broadcom VMware Changes | PYMNTS.com

A European cloud industry association has called on EU antitrust regulators to intervene against Broadcom, requesting a temporary suspension of changes affecting its VMware partner ecosystem, according to Reuters.

The lobbying group Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe (CISPE), which represents nearly 50 members across the region and includes Microsoft and Amazon as associate members, has escalated its dispute with the U.S. tech firm. Per Reuters, the group has asked the European Commission to impose interim measures after Broadcom moved to end its VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) programme in Europe.

The dispute follows CISPE’s earlier legal action against the European Commission over its approval of Broadcom’s 2023 acquisition of VMware. The group argued at the time that regulators had not adequately scrutinized the deal, according to Reuters.
