EU antitrust regulators are set to make a decision on August 1 regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s planned acquisition of network equipment maker Juniper Networks for $14 billion. The deal, announced in January, is aimed at bolstering HPE’s artificial intelligence products and expanding its networking business. The European Commission may approve the deal with or without conditions after its initial review or opt for a full investigation. HPE is likely to address concerns about competition by highlighting Juniper’s main rival, Cisco. The UK competition watchdog is also reviewing the deal and will announce its decision on August 14.
