Enterprise AI Applications are being enhanced by AWS and Workday collaboration

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a new partnership with the enterprise software company Workday that is focused on generative artificial intelligence. This expanded partnership aims to deliver AI capabilities to customers more efficiently and quickly by leveraging the power of Workday AI and AWS. Workday’s vice president of products and engineering highlighted the importance of using enterprise data in Workday applications and how the collaboration with AWS enhances their ability to achieve this goal.

Workday is utilizing various AWS tools such as The bedrock of the Amazon and Amazon SageMaker Quick Start to develop generative AI capabilities that help customers manage their workforce and financial assets. For example, Workday is using AWS generative AI capabilities to assist customers in creating job descriptions, analyzing contracts for revenue reporting, and generating personalized employee talent highlights in a fraction of the time previously required.

In addition to their collaboration on generative AI capabilities, Workday has joined forces with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to explore new AI applications and expand their use of Amazon SageMaker. This partnership aims to improve the performance of large language models, implement model guardrails and Responsible AI Policies, and evaluate generative AI use cases for production.

AWS has recently introduced an AI-powered generative service called AWS Application Studio, which allows users to describe the application they want to build, specify its functions, and select data sources for integration. This service, currently available in preview in Oregon, can create an application within minutes based on the user’s input, enabling them to use it immediately.

Amazon’s focus on AI has been a significant growth driver, with the company reporting a 17% year-over-year increase in sales to $25 billion from AWS. Operating income also rose to $9.4 billion from $5.1 billion in the first quarter of the year. Amazon has introduced several new products related to generative AI this year, reinforcing their commitment to advancing AI technologies.
