South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) is testing artificial intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency and give doctors more time to help more patients.
Doctors at emergency operations centers in Crawley and Medway are testing the AI tool to transcribe doctor and patient conversations into “structured medical notes”.
The notes would be reviewed and approved by the clinician to reduce the time spent writing notes after the calls.
Emma Webber, clinical operations manager for integrated care, said: “The technology should help our staff focus more on the patient and eliminate some of the administrative processes which can be time consuming.”
