Elon Musk’s technology startup xAI and Oracle have reportedly concluded talks on a potential $10 billion server deal, as per a report by The Information. The agreement aims to extend xAI’s existing lease of Nvidia’s AI chips from Oracle for a system utilizing Nvidia’s H100 graphics processing units. Musk has been active on his social media platform X, discussing the partnership and plans for a multi-year deal to lease Nvidia processors for a planned supercomputer. However, negotiations faced hurdles due to Musk’s desire for a faster supercomputer than what Oracle believed was achievable, as well as concerns over power supplies at xAI’s preferred location. Oracle and Elon Musk’s representatives have yet to comment on the matter.
