Edinburgh’s smart home security startup Boundary has secured £ 3.7million in a seed funding round. £ 1.5 million of that donation will come through Skyscanner co-founder Gareth Williams. The remaining £ 2.2m will be provided by existing Boundary shareholders Scottish Enterprise and Equity Gap. This is Williams’ largest angel investment to date, bringing the startup’s total capital to £ 7.9 million. The company reports that the funds will be used to accelerate product development and increase team size over the next year and a half.

Boundary Technologies was founded by Paul Walton and Robin Knox in 2018 and launched their first product in March, a DIY smart home security system. According to Boundary, the system is constantly being developed. A panic alarm function and the integration of Google Home, Alexa and IFTTT will go live this week.
