Early Geekbench results show impressive single-core performance of AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series, with 9700X and 9600X outperforming previous-generation AMD and Intel CPUs

AMD is set to release its Ryzen 9000 Chips on July 31, but early performance leaks are already surfacing. @Benchleaks shared results for the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors, showing impressive performance surpassing previous-generation chips from AMD and Intel. These leaks are likely from PC manufacturers conducting final tests before the chips hit the market, but it’s essential to take these results with caution as configurations may still change.

Both processors were tested with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, with the Ryzen 7 9700X boasting eight cores, 16 threads, a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, a max frequency of 5.54 GHz, and 32 MB of L3 cache. On the other hand, the Ryzen 5 9600X features six cores, 12 threads, a base frequency of 3.9 GHz, and a max frequency of 5.47 GHz, along with 32 MB of L3 cache.

Comparing Geekbench 6 results with other processors, the Ryzen 9000 series outperforms previous-gen AMD and Intel chips in single-core performance despite lower clock speeds, showcasing AMD’s advancements. However, Intel’s 14th Gen chips still excel in multi-core performance due to their P-core/E-core architecture.

While benchmarks provide a glimpse of a processor’s potential performance, real-world performance can vary based on system configurations and silicon quality. When considering a CPU purchase, it’s important to wait for comprehensive benchmark tests to evaluate performance in various applications.

Overall, the leaked performance data for the Ryzen 9000 chips suggest promising advancements in single-core performance, positioning AMD competitively against Intel’s latest offerings. As the release date approaches, consumers can look forward to more detailed tests to determine the full capabilities of these processors.
