Don’t believe the hype about AI toys. Children deserve better

AI toys promise to be “kind” and provide empathy that they actually cannot, confusing children’s developing understanding of healthy relationships. They often smooth over conflict and offer canned comfort, which can undermine the real-life interactions children need to build social skills, self-regulation and resilience.
