Voting machine maker Dominion Voting Systems has sued Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow and staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, of $ 1.3 billion for his month-long campaign to make false claims about the 2020 elections.
Lindell, the founder of a pillow company and one of Trump’s most visible defenders after losing the election, has spent months sharing an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory that President Joe Biden won only because of a far-reaching conspiracy that the Venezuelan government and include hacked voting machines.
Dominion is one of the largest providers of voting systems in the country, serving 26 states in at least a certain capacity with voting or voting machines.
The defamation lawsuit is Dominion’s third against Trump allies since the election. Similar lawsuits were previously filed against attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.
