The military’s effort with clouds has evolved from a nascent snowball to a tumbling boulder as more skills and applications have been tackled in recent years.
Mark Valentine, general manager of the national security group at Microsoft, said the Department of Defense has positive momentum on the cloud and there are certain measures in place to make it happen.
“A lot of people look at the private sector and see where they are with the cloud, look at the Department of Defense and think, ‘Wow, you seem to be behind the curve of power. “Actually, I don’t think that’s the case,” Valentine told the Federal News Network on day two DoD Cloud Exchange.
Because of the size, complexity, and importance of DoD’s duties, Valentine said, DoD actually moves pretty quickly.
