Microsoft looks forward to joining Red Hat Summit 2021. It’s our fifth year in a row that we’re participating, and we look forward to working with the Red Hat community. In the April segment (April 27-28), Scott Guthrie, our Executive Vice President of Cloud + AI, will hold the keynote with Paul Cormier. “Open Hybrid Cloud: changing what’s possible“To talk about our partnership, followed by an Ask the Expert session:”Azure Unplugged: Everything you need to know to run Red Hat workloads on Azure. “Later in the June segment (June 15-16) we will have more in-depth technical sessions and demos.

During the event, we will showcase the latest developments that enable Red Hat customers to work natively on Azure. We’ll cover innovations in migrating RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) workloads, building cloud-native apps with Azure Red Hat OpenShift, hybridizing Red Hat workloads with Azure Arc, running and managing Java apps for business, and all Automate tasks with Ansible on Azure.

Here’s a preview of what you’ll hear from us:

  • In addition to migrating Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions to Azure Pay As You Go images Azure Hybrid Benefit for Linux now also supports Azure Reserved Instances. This allows customers to save money on both software costs and compute costs when running RHEL on Azure. This is especially useful when running persistent business critical workloads like SAP.
  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) is now previewed with Azure App Service. The Azure Marketplace offering for JBoss EAP for Azure RHEL VM and Virtual Machine Scale sets will be available this June. The Azure App Service enables you to undo and move Java applications with little or no code changes. Azure RHEL VM / VMSS is a great option for migrating monolithic cluster deployments from on-premises to the cloud without redesigning the entire infrastructure. These new options make it easier to migrate enterprise Java applications to Azure.
  • Azure Red Hat OpenShift Clusters can be integrated with Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes so you can manage and manage all of your Kubernetes clusters from a single location. Customers can now also use GitOps configurations to configure their applications consistently.
  • After all, we work closely with red hat Improved Ansible on Azure integration, which automates the management and operation of Red Hat workloads and Azure services deployed in the hybrid cloud.

The partnership between Microsoft and Red Hat enables our mutual customers to migrate to the hybrid cloud and run Red Hat workloads seamlessly in local, edge and cloud environments, as well as provide security, administration and automation functions for their business-critical workloads . From the first supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Azure VMs, the unique integrated technical support, to the jointly developed and managed services, we continue our work to help our customers achieve more with our collaboration.
