The Homeland Security Department wants to develop a technical solution to monitor the health and stress levels of its employees, to recognize when employees need help due to physical or mental exhaustion, and to optimize the “human performance and resilience” of the workforce.

The department launched a call for proposals seeking solutions that incorporate biometric technologies to monitor employee health and “psychosocial information” entered into the software by the user. This data is supported by algorithms that alert employees to impending physical and mental health problems and suggest measures to avert these failures.
