Jack Dorsey delivered a bang on Friday. The founder of Block, which owns Australia’s Afterpay, told the company’s 10,000 employees that four out of 10 of them would be laid off as part of plans to make the payments giant more efficient, smarter and probably more profitable.
“I know it might feel uncomfortable to do it this way,” Dorsey said in his 600-word letter. “I would rather it seem clumsy and human than efficient and cold.”
