AMD’s Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs will have 24 usable PCIe Gen5 lanes, giving them an advantage over Intel in terms of total Gen5 lanes. Intel Arrow Lake CPUs will support native DDR5-6400 memory, while Zen 5 CPUs from AMD will continue with native DDR5-5600 support. The Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs are expected to launch in the second half of 2024 and will compete against AMD’s Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” CPUs.
At Computex 2024, Intel’s motherboard partners unveiled their next-generation designs based on the Z890 PCH and LGA 1851 socket.
