Dell sells majority stake in VMware
Dell Technologies formally outsourced VMware by selling its 81% majority stake to investors last week. Dell stands ready to maintain strategic ties after the sale to work on new products and keep sales and marketing updated. VMware is a provider of server virtualization machines that allow multiple instances of compute to run from a single physical server. All shareholders were expected to pay out a special dividend of up to $ 12 billion, including Dell, which will receive $ 9.3 billion to $ 9.7 billion, according to Reuters.
