Katie Luo from the University of Southern California and Arisa Chu from Stanford University have been recognized as finalists for the award.
The awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles this fall, coinciding with the anniversary of Hedy Lamarr’s birth on November 9, 1914. Lamarr, a renowned Austrian-American actress and inventor, was known for her groundbreaking work in frequency hopping, which laid the foundation for spread spectrum technology used in modern cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth applications.
