In a recent interview with The Philadelphia Investigator, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s defense intelligence, GUR, commented on the situation in Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia. He acknowledged that the current situation is challenging and will continue to be difficult for at least a month, but reassured that there will be no Armageddon.

Budanov emphasized that Ukraine’s main goal is to liberate territories seized by Russia in eastern Donbas and prevent further Russian advances. He stressed the importance of Western support in supplying Ukraine with necessary weapons and equipment to counter Russia’s military capabilities. Budanov highlighted Ukraine’s focus on battlefield technology, such as unmanned systems and electronic warfare, to combat Russia’s superiority in manpower.

One of Budanov’s key initiatives is utilizing long-range drones to target Russian assets and bring the war to Russia’s doorstep. By conducting operations on Russian territory, Ukraine aims to disrupt Russian supply lines and create a sense of war among Russian citizens. This strategy has already seen success with Ukrainian-made drones destroying Russian ships and forcing them to relocate from Crimea.

Overall, Budanov emphasized the importance of technological advancements in modern warfare and Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to defend its sovereignty against Russian aggression. Despite the challenges ahead, he remains optimistic about Ukraine’s capabilities and determination to confront the Russian threat.
