Fourth Estate and other defense agencies can now use Amazon Web Services’ commercial cloud services through the Department of Defense’s existing milCloud 2.0 contract.

MilCloud 2.0, an on-premise infrastructure-as-a-service offering from defense company General Dynamics Information Technology, has been the de facto cloud target for all defense agencies – those not under military departments – since a Pentagon technology contract in 2018 stand boss.

Fourth real estate agencies traditionally used milCloud 2.0 – under the Defense Information Systems Agency – for cloud migrations, application modernization and development of new applications. According to a joint announcement by both companies on Monday, milCloud 2.0 now offers an expanded suite of cloud offerings related to “artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber-sensing and other new technologies”.
