SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) — Protesters are in downtown South Bend ahead of a public meeting about the upcoming Microsoft data center in Granger.
The project was approved by county leaders a year ago. The groundbreaking is expected in the near future.
But some people still have major concerns.

Microsoft is hosting an informational open house at the Century Center Tuesday night.
Microsoft says the meeting is meant to give a closer look at the project and for people to ask questions directly to company representatives.
Despite the project’s approval last spring many at the protest are still vocal about their opposition.
Microsoft says the open house will include information on the planned look of the data center, along with details about jobs, energy use, and water usage.
Protesters gathered outside the Century Center to say they want stronger protection against what they believe could be negative impacts from the large-scale project.
