Data center investments double to $2.8 billion in just a few months

Australian investment in the data centers powering the global adoption of artificial intelligence doubled in the September quarter, driving the biggest increase in business investment in four years, which economists say is needed to solve the government’s productivity problem.

IT companies’ investments in machinery and equipment – including routers, cooling towers and servers used to build data centers – surpassed their previous record of $1.4 billion last quarter and doubled to $2.8 billion in the September quarter.
