A Bristol company founded by a former GCHQ trainer has acquired a US technology company to expand its corporate cybersecurity training offering.

Immersive Labs said it had an agreement to buy Pennsylvania-based Snap Labs for an undisclosed amount and will incorporate its technology into its own platform that can identify gaps in a workforce’s cyber skills.

The fast-growing company, based on Runway East in Redcliffe, said the software will enable situations like cyber security breaches to be simulated with “a new level of realism.”

Immersive Labs, which includes Airbnb, Deutsche Bank and Met Police, said the new system will allow customers to conduct labs and cyber crisis drills in a cloud-based replica of their own organization.

According to the company, it will enable corporate technical teams to create multiplayer simulations tailored to specific environments and roles.
