AI coding assistant startup Cursor is not only using artificial intelligence to help developers write code, but is also deploying AI in its own internal operations, CEO Michael Truell told the audience at Fortune’s Brainstorm AI in San Francisco.
Truell said the company has already automated about 80% of its customer support tickets using the technology. He said the company has also implemented an internal AI-powered communications system that allows employees to query information across the company. “We actually did a lot of work internally to adjust that setup,” he said.
Cursor also uses AI for internal communications, he said. “We have a system where people can ask any question about the company and have an AI answer it,” Truell said, as well as a project where “a few forward-deployed engineers are integrated in-house and are now building custom tools for operations, sales and experimentation,” he said.
