Cox Enterprises is notifying affected individuals of a data breach that exposed their personal information to hackers who breached the company’s network after exploiting a zero-day flaw in Oracle E-Business Suite.
The compromise occurred in August, but the company did not become aware of the breach until late September, when it launched its internal investigation.
“On September 29, 2025, we became aware of suspicious activity related to Oracle’s E-Business Suite, a platform we use for some of our back-office business processes,” the statement said.
“We have learned that the suspicious activity resulted from cybercriminals exploiting a previously unknown security flaw (so-called “zero-day” vulnerability) in Oracle’s E-Business Suite between August 9 and August 14, 2025.”
