A number of PC manufacturers have released their first Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm Silicon. Intel has intervened to ensure the timely arrival of its Lunar Lake chips, which will support Microsoft’s Copilot+ AI features by the third quarter of 2024. Intel has announced that over 80 new laptops from more than 20 hardware partners will be shipping in time for the holiday season, featuring new Copilot+ features like Recall and Co-creator through software updates. The company expects to ship over 40 million AI-enabled PC chips this year, including an integrated neural processing unit (NPU) for generative AI functions.

According to Intel, the Lunar Lake chips will have more than triple the AI performance of current Meteor Lake models, supporting over 40 billion NPU operations per second. Microsoft Vice President of Windows and devices, Pavan Davuluri, expressed excitement about the partnership with Intel and the launch of Lunar Lake, which will bring significant improvements in security, battery life, and more.
