Connected economy: Amazon, Walmart vying for deal


Today Metropolis Healthcare Ltd. in the connected economy for a strategic partner, and Amazon and Walmart are both reportedly in the running.

Also, Square is teaming up with SoundHound, an artificial intelligence (AI) company, to integrate on-demand orders placed by SoundHound’s voice assistant into its point-of-sale system, and Amazon Pay and Amazon Web Services are launching one UPI payment partnership with Indian RBL Bank.

Metropolis Healthcare Ltd., a diagnostics chain operating in India and Africa, is looking to raise more than $300 million by selling a minority stake in its operation.

In doing so, the company would also develop a relationship with a strategic partner, with Amazon and Walmart (through its Indian retail operation Flipkart) both reportedly in the running.
