We saw several concepts for a new iMac as rumors suggest that Apple is expected to launch a revamped model of its all-in-one computer this year. While reports suggest that the new iMac will have a similar design to the Pro Display XDR and will also come in more colors, this new concept is from ConceptsiPhone and Khahn design shows exactly that.

Instead of having a curved body like the current generation, the iMac shown in the concept – just like the Pro Display XDR – is completely flat. However, the case is much thinner than Apple’s expensive external display, and it also has rounded corners that are more similar to the 4th generation iPad Pro and iPad Air.

A few years ago it might have been hard to imagine a desktop computer as thin as an iPad, but now this is becoming more plausible with Apple Silicon chips, which are more efficient and don’t require large fans. The idea of the concept is essentially to hook a giant iPad Pro to a simpler version of Apple’s Pro Stand.

The first-generation iMac was introduced in five different colors, and recent rumors suggest that the new iMac – which is currently only available in silver – is getting more colors. The iMac in concept has five different colors, most of which are based on the current iPad Air lineup: blue, rose gold, black, red, and green.

Though Apple will hold one Special event on TuesdayIt’s unclear whether the redesigned iMac is coming now or later this year. However, the concept only affirms that the iMac needs a new, more modern look.
