After the supermarket was sued by the consumer watchdog over alleged fake discounts, Coles will use AI to target sales to specific demographics.

Coles executives discussed the company’s use of AI sales ideas in a conference call with analysts on Friday after the release of its half-year financial results.

Coles posted a profit of $511 million in the second half of 2025, down 11.3 percent.

This week the Federal Court heard closing arguments in a consumer watchdog case about Coles’ down-down sales prices.

Asked on Friday how the brand would restore consumer trust following the lawsuit and what colored price stickers shoppers would see on shelves – indicating different sales campaigns – Anna Croft, chief commercial officer, said AI would drive Coles’ sales regime.
